THE PURPOSE OF THE NURSING HOME IS TO OFFER LONG TERM, RESPITE CARE TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF EASTPORT AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES. RESIDENTS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH HEALTH CARE ISSUES THAT REQUIRE NURSING HOME SERVICES ARE ABLE TO STAY IN THEIR COMMUNITY AND RECEIVE THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY EASTPORT MEMORIAL NURSING HOME. THE SECOND PURPOSE OF THE HOME IS TO EMPLOY PROFESSIONALS AND NONPROFESSIONALS FROM EASTPORT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. THE HOME HAS BEEN ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY EMPLOY ON AVERAGE 50 HEALTH CARE WORKERS, WHICH INCLUDE LICENSED NURSES, CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANTS, ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL, HOUSEKEEPING, LAUNDRY AND MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.
