THE YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS (YMCA) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1956 AND ORGANIZED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS. THE YMCA'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THEIR CAUSE OF STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY THROUGH YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. THE YMCA IS A POWERFUL ASSOCIATION OF MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN COMMITTED TO BRINGING ABOUT LASTING PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CHANGE. THE PURPOSE OF THE PLANIVIEW SERENITY CENTER IS TO FURNISH A STRUCTURED LIVING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHEMICALLY ADDICTED INDIVIDUALS DESIRING TO CHANGE THEIR ADDICTED LIFE STYLE AND TO AID THOSE INDIVIDUALS TO RETURN TO A USEFUL PLACE IN SOCIETY.

DURING THE YEAR ENDING 8/31/2022 THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTED FUNDS TO EIGHT LOCAL AGENCIES PROVIDING LITERACY INSTRUCTION, MEALS FOR THE ELDERLY, ASSISTANCE TO THE NEEDY, COUNSEING, CHILDCARE, PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH, THERAPY FOR DISABLED CHILDREN AND MANY MORE SERVICES.

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).

The goal of this organization are the organizations like chambers of commerce, business leagues and commercial trade associations whose members are businessmen and women and merchants who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting the general commercial interests of the community or the interests of their own trade. [Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]

S. with a focus on agricultural and rural development, health, education, social welfare, small business development and industrial growth.
