THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED AS A NONPROFIT PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION, WITH NO MEMBERS, WITH A PERPETUAL DURATION AND SUCCESSION IN ORDER TO CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES, AND LESSEN THE BURDENS OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA WHICH MAY INCLUDE THROUGH THE ISSUANCE OF DEBT, THE PURCHASE OF REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY AND THE FINANCING, DEVELOPING, CONSTRUCTING, ACQUIRING, INSTALLING AND OPERATING CERTAIN PUBLIC FACILITIES.

The goal of this organization is to provide gas, electricity, water and sanitary services including the hook-up of services and the installation, maintenance and repair of necessary equipment.

FAIRFIELD BEHAVORIAL HEALTH SERVICES (FBHS) IS A NON-PROFIT OUTPATIENT TREATMENT FACILITY. ONE OF 32 COUNTY SUBSTANCE ABUSE AUTHORITIES CREATED BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA ACT OF 1973. IN 1979, FAIRFIELD COUNTY DESIGNATED FBHS AS THE SOLE COUNTY AUTHORITY FOR ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE TREATMENT.

THE FOUNDATION RECEIVED 22 ACRES OF UNDEVELOPED REAL PROPERTY FROM THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE DEVELOPED INTO RENTAL HOUSING FOR TEACHERS. ESTIMATED TIMEFRAME FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION IS 18-24 MONTHS.
