THE PRIMARY PURPOSES OF THE ORGANIZATION ARE: PROMOTE DOWNTOWN THROUGH MARKETING, PROMOTIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS; PROMOTE COMMUNICATION AND COOPERATION BETWEEN PARTIES HAVING AN INTEREST IN DOWNTOWN; FOSTER A SENSE OF COMMUNITY INTEREST IN DOWNTOWN; PROVIDE A FORUM WHERE PEOPLE CAN BRING SPECIFIC CONCERNS FOR DISCUSSION, RECEIVE RELIABLE INFORMATION, AND SUPPORT FOR LEGITIMATE CAUSES; FURNISH A CONNECTING LINK BETWEEN THE DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, BUSINESSES, CITIZENS AND NON-PROFIT GROUPS WHO HAVE A STAKE IN THE SUCCESS OF THE AREA; IMPLEMENT THE GOALS AND STRATEGIES OUTLINED IN THE DOWNTOWN MASTER PLAN.

THE FESTIVAL IS INSPIRED BY NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED ILLUSTRATOR AND FORMER ROCK HILL RESIDENT VERNON GRANT AND IS DESIGNED TO CELEBRATE THE ART AND HISTORY OF HIS LIFE AND CAREER. THE FESTIVAL ENOCURAGES ALL RESIDENTS TO INVITE FRIENDS, RELATIVES, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO VISIT ROCK HILL AS A REGIONAL TOURISM DESTINATION, AND IS FURTHER DESINGED TO PROMOTE VOLUNTEERISM AND FELLOWSHIP WITHIN THE COMMUNITIES OF YORK COUNTY.

The goal of this organization is to provide alternative living arrangements for people who require care, supervision and support on a 24-hour basis or during part of the day.

OUR MISSION IS TO RESCUE, FOSTER, TRANSPORT, AND FIND HOMES FOR UNWANTED, ABANDONED, AND ABUSED DOGS IN THE CAROLINAS. HALFWAY THERE RESCUES GOAL IS TO PULL AT RISK PETS FROM OVER-CROWDED SHELTERS IN NORTH AND SOUTH CAROLINA, PLACE THEM IN TEMPORARY FOSTER HOMES AND ULTIMATELY FIND THEM PERMANENT, LOVING HOMES. WE ALSO OFFER A COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES FREE VETERINARY CARE, INCLUDING SPAY/NEUTER, FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD SERVICES FOR THEIR PETS.

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.
