CITIZENS VOLUNTEER HOSE COMPANY NO.1 IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE, RELIGIOUS, EDUCATIONAL AND SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES. IT PROVIDES FIRE PROTECTION AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FOR HARRISON TOWNSHIP, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

THE LIBRARY IS A CENTER FOR INFORMATIONAL RESOURCES AND SERVICES, PROMOTING LITERACY AND LIFELONG LEARNING. THE LIBRARY HAS ACHIEVED THE STATUS OF FAMILY PLACE LIBRARY, A NATIONAL INITIATIVE TO ENCOURAGE THE BEGINNING STAGES OF LITERACY IN YOUNG CHILDREN.
