SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 2003, UP HAS BECOME TILLAMOOK COUNTYS TRUSTED RESOURCE FOR ALL ANIMAL WELFARE MATTERS. ITS OVERRIDING MISSION IS TO PREVENT AND ALLEVIATE COMPANION ANIMAL SUFFERING. UP ADDRESSES THE PROBLEMS FACING A LARGE LOW INCOME RESIDENT POPULATION WITH PET FOOD AND VETERINARY EXPENSE HELP AND TO FOCUS ON LONGER-TERM CHANGE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL COMPANION ANIMALS BY TACKLING THE ROOT CAUSE OF SUCH SUFFERING -- OVERPOPULATION. THROUGH AGGRESSIVE, HIGH-VOLUME TARGETED SPAY/NEUTER WORK ESPECIALLY OF PET AND ESPECIALLY OUTDOOR CATS, OUR COMPLEMENTARY SUCCESSFUL FOSTER/ADOPTION PROGRAM AND AN EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH TO ENGENDER A MORE INFORMED AND COMPASSIONATE BELIEF SYSTEM AMONG RESIDENTS, UP STRIVES TOWARD OUR ULTIMATE GOAL OF A STABILIZED COMPANION ANIMAL POPULATION AND WITH IT, A SUITABLE HOME FOR EVERY ANIMAL IN TILLAMOOK COUNTY.

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.

MISSION:

THE PURPOSE OF A JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION IS TO SHOWCASE LOCAL 4-H AND FFA LIVESTOCK EXHIBITORS AND THEIR MARKET PROJECTS. THESE AUCTIONS PROVIDE A MARKETING VENUE FOR THE CULMINATION OF THE LEARNING THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN THIS YEAR'S PROJECT.
