THE MEDICAL AND SCIENTIFIC AREAS OF INTEREST ARE AS FOLLOWS: PULMONOLOGY, CRITICAL CARE, SLEEP MEDICINE, INFECTIOUS DISEASE, PEDIATRICS, ALLERGY/IMMUNOLOGY, THORACIC SURGERY, BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE, ENVIRONMENTAL AND OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE, PHYSIOLOGY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY.

TO SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE METROPOLITAN OPERA ASSOCIATION, INC., A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION.

The goal of this organization is to focus on influencing public policy within the Social Science Research Institutes, Services major group area. Includes a variety of activities from public education and influencing public opinion to lobbying national and state legislatures.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the private foundations that make grants based on charitable endowments. Because of their endowments, they are focused primarily on grantmaking and generally do not actively raise funds or seek public financial support. These are the most common type of private foundation. They are generally endowed, usually from a single individual or family. Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

MISSION:

UMCS HELPS OTHER NOT FOR PROFIT AND RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS TO IDENTIFY THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND ADULTS, AND HELP THEM TO ESTABLISH PROGRAMS AND SUPPORT TO MEET THE REQUESTS OF THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN WAYS THAT TRANSFORM LIVES. UMCS FOCUSES THE LOCAL MISSION CONCERNS OF AREA CONGREGATIONS ON SPECIFIC NEEDS AND PROJECTS WHILE BUILDING THEIR CAPACITY TO MAKE A SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF INDIVIDUALS, NEIGHBORHOODS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES. UMCS SUPPORTS PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN A COMMUNITY AND IMPACT THE LIVES OF INDIVIDUALS IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD.
