MISSION:

NPF WAS FOUNDED IN MEMORY OF CELEBRATED JAZZ VIOLINIST, EDUCATOR AND HUMANITARIAN, NOEL POINTER. AS AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN MR POINTER BELIEVED THAT LEARNING TO PLAY A STRING INSTRUMENT IS A WONDERFUL ACTIVITY AND A TRANSFORMATIVE EXPERIENCE THAT OPENS UP NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN, PARTICULARLY CHILDREN IN THE INNER CITY AND DISADVANTAGED AREAS. NPF CURRENTLY PROVIDES EDUCATION TO MORE THAN 1,000 CHILDREN.

MISSION:

IN 2022, RADIO DIARIES FOCUSED ON 3 GOALS: CONTINUE AND EXPAND OURTRADEMARK LONG-FORMAT DIARIES AND DOCUMENTARIES ON NPR'S ALL THINGSCONSIDERED; INCREASE THE FREQUENCY AND IMPACT OF OUR STORIES WITH WEBSPECIALS, PODCASTS, A REGULAR BLOG, AND MORE; AND BUILD NEW AUDIENCES.

JFREJ MEMBERS ARE WORKING TO MAKE THE CITY WE LOVE A MORE CARING PLACE, FREE FROM ALL FORMS OF RACIST VIOLENCE, WHERE EVERYONE HAS THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESOURCES THEY NEED TO THRIVE.
