THE MISSION OF THE WEST MARION COMMUNITY FORUM IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF OUR RESIDENTS AND OVERCOME RACIAL BARRIERS BY BUILDING BRIDGES IN MCDOWELL COUNTY. WE DO THIS BY SHOWING COMPASSION, ADVOCATING FOR EQUITABLE POLICY REFORM, PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, SHARING RESOURCES, EMPOWERING YOUTH AND CREATING EQUITABLE OUTCOMES FOR ALL.

The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

The goal of this organization is to enable students who demonstrate financial need to obtain the financial assistance they require to meet their educational and living expenses while in school.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF IS THE MISSION OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF MARION. THE CLUB DEMONSTRATES THIS ETHIC BY ACTIVELY ENGAGING MEMBERS IN COMMUNITY PROJECTS AND ENDEAVORS THAT DO GOOD BOTH LOCALLY AND ABROAD. ESTABLISHED IN 1939 CLUB MEMBERS HAVE CONTRIBUTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE WELL BEING OF THE CITY AND COUNTY BY RAISING FUNDS ANNUALLY TO DISTRIBUTE FOR WORTHY PROJECTS WHOSE CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR COMMUNITY EXCEED EXPECTATIONS. THE ROTARY CLUB OF MARION ENDEAVORS TO FILL GAPS IN FUNDING BY RECOGNIZING SMALL PROJECTS AND THEIR IMPACT WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. THE CLUB IS ALSO COMMITTED TO YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT OF WATER AND WHEEL CHAIR PROJECTS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.

TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO MCDOWELL COUNTY SCHOOLS THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATION OF GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND DIRECT SERVICES TO PROGRAMS AND TO INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS

The goal of this organization is to provide medical care services where the major purpose is unclear enough that a more specific code cannot be accurately assigned.

The goal of this organization is to influence public policy within the Recreation, Sports, Leisure, Athletics major group area. Includes a variety of activities from public education and influencing public opinion to lobbying national and state legislatures.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people of all ages to learn, become competitive in and enjoy the organized recreational activity, sport or game of their choice. These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.
