IT IS THE LARGEST AND LONGEST-ESTABLISHED NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MEN AND WOMEN OF ITALIAN HERITAGE IN THE UNITED STATES.THE MISSION OF THE ORDER SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA IS TO PROMOTE AND PRESERVE THE HISTORY, THE TRADITIONS, THE CULTURE AND THE LANGUAGE OF ITALY FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL HUMANITY.THE WATSONVILLE LODGE OF OSIA PROMOTES THE ITALIAN CULTURE AND LANGUAGE, PRESERVES ITALIAN AMERICAN TRADITIONS, HISTORY AND HERITAGE, AS WELL AS PARTICIPANTS IN PHILANTHROPIC AND SOCIAL UNDERTAKINGS. ANNUALLY THE LODGE DONATES TO: COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS OF ITALIAN DESCENT; THE COOLEY'S ANEMIA AND ALZHEIMER'S FOUNDATIONS; SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS TO STUDY ABROAD IN ITALY(THROUGH THE SONS OF ITALY WESTERN FOUNDATION).THE LODGE ALSO SUPPORTS CHARITABLE CAUSES AS THE NEED ARISES, INCLUDING THE SANTA COUNTY VOLUNTEER CENTER HUMAN RACE, THE PAJARO VAL

TO WORK FOR THE SOLUTIONS OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE FARM AND RURAL COMMUNITY BY USE OF ORGANIZED ACTION. TO REPRESENT, PROTECT, AND ADVANCE THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL INTERESTS OF THE FARMERS OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY AND THE PAJARO VALLEY.

TO SERVE AND PROMOTE ACADEMICS, THE ARTS, ATHLETICS AND THE HEALTH AND WELL BEIGN OF THE YOUTH IN PAJARO VALLEY, SANTA CRUZ COUNTY.

The goal of this organization is to provide a wide variety of social services that are designed to support healthy family development, improve the familys ability to resolve problems and prevent the need for unnecessary placement of children in settings outside the home.
