EACH OF THESE ITEMS IS CATALOGED, PRESERVED, AND CARED FOR AND ACTIVITIES VERIFYING THEIR EXISTENCE AND ASSESSING THEIR CONDITION ARE PERFORMED CONTINUOUSLY. COLLECTION ITEMS ACQUIRED EITHER THROUGH PURCHASES OR DONATION ARE NOT CAPITALIZED. PURCHASES OF COLLECTION ITEMS ARE RECORDED AS DECREASES IN NET ASSETS WITHOUT DONOR RESTRICTIONS IF PURCHASED WITH ASSETS WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS AND AS A DECREASE IN NET ASSETS WITH DONOR RESTRICTIONS IF PURCHASED WITH DONOR-RESTRICTED ASSETS. CONTRIBUTIONS OF COLLECTION ITEMS ARE NOT RECOGNIZED IN THE STATEMENT OF ACTIVITIES. THE ASSOCIATION'S INSURANCE POLICY OF MUSEUM COLLECTIONS EXPIRED IN NOVEMBER 1995. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS DETERMINED THAT IT IS NOT FEASIBLE TO OBTAIN SIMILAR COVERAGE ON THE COLLECTIONS DUE TO THE HIGH PREMIUM COST.

BUILD'S MISSION IS TO USE ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO EXCITE AND PROPEL LOW-INCOME, DISENGAGED YOUTH THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL TO COLLEGE SUCCESS. BUILD IS COMMITTED TO HELPING DISADVANTAGED YOUTH IN AMERICA'S MOST UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES GAIN THE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO PERSEVERE IN COLLEGE AND BEYOND. WHILE ACADEMIC PROFICIENCY IS NECESSARY, IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR COLLEGE AND THEIR CAREERS. THE MISSING PIECE IS FOR OUR YOUTH TO ACQUIRE 21ST CENTURY SKILLS - CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING, SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING AND COLLABORATION - ALL OF WHICH ARE BEST LEARNED THROUGH A HANDS-ON, REAL-LIFE EXPERIENCE LIKE STARTING A BUSINESS.

OPENING OF NEW PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM AT WAVERLY PLACE APARTMENTS FOR 15 CHRONICALLY HOMELESS ADULTS LIVING WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS.
