A KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE NEW BRUNSWICK EDUCATION FOUNDATION (NBEF)IS TO HELP THE NEW BRUNSWICK PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT ENHANCE ITS PROGRAMS IN TECHNOLOGY, VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS, CULTURAL ENRICHMENT, CAREER DEVELOPMENT, AND OTHER NON-CORE CURRICULUM AREAS THAT INSPIRE, EQUIP, AND EMPOWER STUDENTS TO EXCEL IN EDUCATION AND IN LIFE.

MISSION:

NEW BLUE IS A NATIONWIDE FELLOWSHIP THAT PROVIDES POLICE OFFICER AND COMMUNITY MEMBER PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE FUNDING, NETWORKS, AND SKILLS NECESSARY TO REFORM PROBLEMATIC POLICIES AND PRACTICES. THIS PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON RECRUITING REFORMED-MINDED OFFICERS FROM THE COMMUNITY TO BECOME NEW BLUE FELLOWS. NEW BLUE WILL EQUIP THESE LEADERS WITH THE TOOLS TO CREATE SOLUTIONS THAT GENERATE IMMEDIATE IMPACTS ON BIPOC COMMUNITIES HARMED BY THE CURRENT LAW ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM. OVERALL, THE PROJECT HEALS STRAINED POLICE AND COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH CO-PRODUCED, EQUITY-BASED SOLUTIONS THAT MAKE BIPOC COMMUNITIES SAFER.
