MISSION:

THE INSTITUTE IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO THE STUDY, PLANNING AND EVALUATION OF REGIONAL PUBLIC POLICY, LAND USE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT - ALL WITHIN THE COMPACT POWERS OF THE BI-STATE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY.

The goal of this organization are the organizations like chambers of commerce, business leagues and commercial trade associations whose members are businessmen and women and merchants who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting the general commercial interests of the community or the interests of their own trade. [Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]

SANTA MARIA COUNTRY CLUB WAS A K OF C CORPORATION THAT PROVIDED A BUILDING FOR FAMILY GATHERINGS, I.E. WEDDING RECEPTIONS, BAPTISMS, BIRTHDAYS. THE 12-ACRE FIELD BEHIND THE BUILDING PROVIDED ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES, SOCCER, SOFTBALL, HORSHESHOES, AND CORKBALL. THE MISSION WAS TO PROVIDE AN ATMOSPHERE AND OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE FAMILY LIFE. SANTA MARIA COUNTRY CLUB WENT OUT OF BUSINESS IN 2019 AND SOLD ITS BUILDING AND 12 ACRES. THE PROCEEDS OF THE SALE OF THE BUILDING AND PROPERTY WERE DONATED TO 501(C)3 ORGANIZATIONS TO COMPLY WITH OUR BOARD POLICIES.
