ROOSEVELT PROMISED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE A NEW DEAL. OVER THE DECADE 1933-43, A CONSTELLATION OF FEDERALLY SPONSORED PROGRAMS PUT MILLIONS OF JOBLESS AMERICANS BACK TO WORK AND HELPED TO REVIVE A MORIBUND ECONOMY. THE RESULT WAS A RICH LANDSCAPE OF PUBLIC WORKS ACROSS THE NATION, OFTEN OF OUTSTANDING BEAUTY, UTILITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP. NO CITY, TOWN, OR RURAL AREA WAS UNTOUCHED BY THE NEW DEAL. HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF ROADS, SCHOOLS, THEATERS, LIBRARIES, HOSPITALS, POST OFFICES, COURTHOUSES, AIRPORTS, PARKS, FORESTS, GARDENS, AND ARTWORKSCREATED IN ONLY ONE DECADE BY OUR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTSARE STILL IN USE TODAY. THE VETERANS AWAY FROM HOME ENVISIONS TO HONOR AND REMEMBER EVERY VETERAN WHO NEVER MADE IT BACK TO THE USA THROUGH PROGRAMS AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES SPECIALLY AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE IN COUNTRIES WHERE THE SAID MILITARY SOLDIERS ARE LEFT AND BURIED.

These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.
