JUNIOR CENTER PROVIDES PROGRAMS WHICH SUPPORT AND ENRICH THE K THROUGH 12 ART AND SCIENCE CURRICULUM IN OVER 300 ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS THROUGHOUT OAKLAND AND THE EAST BAY.

GARDEN SCHOOL FOUNDATIONS PRIMARY SEED TO TABLE PROGRAM OF GARDEN-BASED EDUCATION SERVED 2,075 STUDENTS WITH 571 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION AT SEVEN TITLE I ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES BOTH VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON STANDARDS-ALIGNED LESSONS IN GARDENING, ECOLOGY, SCIENCE, NUTRITION, AND COOKING. AS PART OF ITS POST-COVID RESPONSE, GSF ALSO HELD EIGHTEEN FREE SCHOOL-BASED FARMERS MARKETS, SERVING 1,958 INDIVIDUALS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PURSUED ITS CAFETERIA TO COMPOST PROGRAM, AND HOSTED VOLUNTEERS AND INTERNS.

THE COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT FOUNDATION WAS INCOPORATED WITH THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF PROMOTING AND ASSISTING THE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS OF THE COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT.
