MISSION:

THE UNITED WAY OF CLATSOP COUNTY (UWCC) HAS AN EXTENSIVE PROGRAM IN PLACE TO DETERMINE THAT ITS DONATIONS ARE USED BY CHARITABLE TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE UWCC GOALS AND PHILOSOPHIES. FIRST, UNITED WAY VERIFIES THAT ALL MEMBER AGENCIES ARE TAX EXEMPT ENTITIES RECOGNIZED UNDER IRC SECTION 501(C)(3). SECONDLY, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS & TAX RETURNS OF THE MEMBER AGENCIES ARE PRESENTED TO THE UWCC'S ALLOCATION COMMITTEE. THIS COMMITTEE CONSISTS ENTIRELY OF VOLUNTEERS FROM THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THE UWCC SERVES. THIS COMMITTEE ASSESSES THE NEED OF THE MEMBER AGENCIES, AND RECOMMENDS ALLOCATION AMOUNTS TO THE UWCC'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE COSENTINO CHARITY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS VARIOUS CHARITABLE NEEDS IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA BY CONTRIBUTING TO PUBLIC CHARITIES DEDICATED TO FULFILLING THESE NEEDS. CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PRIMARILY MADE FROM FUNDS RAISED THROUGH AN ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.

THE PRIMARY ACTIVITY OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER, SHELTER AND PROMOTE HEALTH THROUGHOUT THE WORLD EITHER THROUGH PROGRAMS IT CREATES OR OTHERS IT SUPPORTS. ALL EXPENDITURES IN PROGRAMS ARE CAREFULLY BUDGETED IN ADVANCE, CHECKED, CONFIRMED, AND VERIFIED WITH THE BUDGET. NO ONE WHO IS AN OFFICER OR DIRECTOR IS PAID FOR SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CREATES OR SUPPORTS CONSERVATION THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND US VETERANS.
