ALUMNI WEEKEND & REUNION: THE 2020 REUNION WEEKEND WAS HELD VIRTUALLY AND PROVIDED SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES AND FELLOWSHIP WITH FELLOW ALUMNI. ALUMNI FROM THE UNDERGRADUATE CLASSES OF 2020, 2015, 2010, 2005, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975, 1970, 1965, 1960, 1955, AND 1950 CAME TOGETHER VIRTUALLY AND SHARED CALTECH MEMORIES AND PERSONAL UPDATES FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
COMMUNICATIONS, ONLINE PROGRAMS, AND SUPPORT SERVICES: IN ADDITION TO REGULAR ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS, FUNDS ARE FURNISHED TO PUBLISH THE ANNUAL ALUMNI MAGAZINE "TECHER" WITH PRINT COPIES SENT TO MORE THAN 18,000 U.S. ALUMNI AND ELECTRONICALLY TO ALL INTERNATIONAL ALUMNI. THE CAA ALSO HOSTS WEBINARS AND ONLINE PROGRAMS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION, ENRICHMENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. IN MARCH 2021, CALTECH ALUMNI LAUNCHED AN ENTIRELY RE-ENVISIONED WEBSITE, DESIGNED TO BE MORE ENGAGING WITH THE AUDIENCE AND IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH CONSTITUENTS. AT THE SAME TIME, CALTECH ALUMNI LAUNCHED AN ALUMNI PORTAL, FOCUSED ON MAKING CAREER CONNECTIONS AMONG ALUMNI AND OFFERING ORGANIZATION TOOLS FOR GROUPS WITHIN THE ALUMNI POPULATION.
SEMINAR DAY: THIS ANNUAL ACADEMIC SEMINAR DAY WAS HELD ONLINE VIA ZOOM IN MAY 2021. SEMINAR DAY ENABLES ALUMNI AND GUESTS TO BE INFORMED OF THE CURRENT RESEARCH AND VITAL TOPICS, PRESENTED BY CALTECH ALUMNI AND FACULTY. DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC, THE 2021 EVENT WAS HELD VIRTUALLY WITH FOUR DIFFERENT SESSIONS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING, INCLUDING THE SUPERMASSIVE BLACKHOLE STORY; BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS, MEET YOUR BEST FRIEND: AI; PHOTOACOUSTIC IMAGING: FROM ORGANELLES TO CANCER PATIENTS; AND IS THERE LIFE BEYOND EARTH? FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE CALTECH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION PRESENTED VIRTUAL CONVERSATIONS WITH RECIPIENTS OF THE DISTINGUISED ALUMNI AWARD RECIPIENTS. THE INTERVIEWS DREW EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE AND CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE ONLINE FOR ANYONE WHO COULD NOT ATTEND THE LIVE EVENTS.
