THE MISSION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SOLUTIONS FOR SANTA BARBARA COUNTY IS TO END THE INTERGENERATIONAL CYCLE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BY PROVIDING PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION SERVICES AND BY CHALLENGING SOCIETY'S ATTITUDES, BELIEFS AND BEHAVIORS TO EFFECT SOCIAL CHANGE.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SOLUTIONS IS THE ONLY AGENCY IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA THAT PROVIDES EMERGENCY SHELTER AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO ALL SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE AND THEIR CHILDREN INCLUDING WOMEN, MEN AND LGBT POPULATIONS. TWO SHELTERS ARE OPERATED IN THE CITIES OF SANTA BARBARA, SANTA MARIA AND LOMPOC. DURING FY 20-21, OUR TWO SHELTERS PROVIDED 447 INDIVIDUALS (321 ADULTS AND 126 CHILDREN) WITH 45 DAY EMERGENCY SHELTER. OUR SHELTERS ALSO OPERATE FOUR CRISIS AND INFORMATION LINES WHICH ANSWERED 4,860 CALLS. OF THOSE CALLS, 398 WERE EMERGENCY CALLS FROM POLICE, EMERGENCY ROOMS AND MEDICAL OFFICES. DURING THIS PERIOD DVS PROVIDED A TOTAL OF 6,219 CRITICALLY NEEDED "SAFETY BED NIGHTS" TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR CHILDREN AT SEVERE RISK AND FLEEING THEIR HOMES DUE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
