TO HELP LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN NORTHERN MARIN COUNTY OVERCOME THEIR CRISIS AND MOVE TOWARD SELF-SUFFICIENCY. TO SUPPORT THE FUNDAMENTAL BELIEF THAT EVERY PERSON HAS A RIGHT TO ADEQUATE FOOD, SHELTER, CLOTHING AND OTHER BASIC NECESSITIES OF LIFE.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES - MORE THAN 1,500 HOUSEHOLDS RECEIVED CASE MANAGEMENT FOR REFERRALS AND GOAL SETTING, AS WELL AS THE DIRECT SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CENTER, INCLUDING RENTAL ASSISTANCE, EMERGENCY FOOD, CLOTHING VOUCHERS, TRANSLATION SUPPORT AND OTHER VITAL SERVICES. DURING HOLIDAY SHARE, OUR HOLIDAY FOOD AND GIFT PROGRAM, WE PROVIDED MEALS AND TOYS TO APPROXIMATELY 150 LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN NOVATO (700 INDIVIDUALS).
THRIVING FAMILIES - OVER 60 FAMILIES RECEIVED LONG-TERM INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT WHICH INCLUDED REFERRALS FOR FINANCIAL EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING AND MEDICAL SERVICES, AS WELL AS FOOD AND CLOTHING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR FAMILY NEEDS AND GOALS. SIGNIFICANT MOVEMENT TO BREAK OUT OF THE CYCLE OF POVERTY WAS MADE FOR THESE FAMILIES. OVER 120 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED EMPLOYMENT, COUNSELING SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE WITH ACHIEVING IMPROVED EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS.
IN-HOME FAMILY SUPPORT - OVER 40 FAMILIES (180 INDIVIDUALS) WHO WERE AT RISK OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OR CHILD ABUSE RECEIVED IN-HOME VISITS AND EDUCATION, LIFE SKILLS AND PARENTING TRAINING, AND TUTORING AND COUNSELING SERVICES. THE SUCCESS RATE WAS 97% OF THESE FAMILIES DID NOT HAVE REPEAT CALLS MADE TO CHILDREN'S PROTECTIVE SERVICE, AND FAMILIES REMAINED INTACT AND SAFE.
