THE OBC CHARITABLE INSTITUTE RECEIVES GRANTS FROM BUSINESS AND PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS AND FROM INDIVIDUAL DONORS TO CONDUCT PUBLIC POLICY PROJECTS FOCUSED ON SUCH ISSUES AS REDESIGNING PUBLIC K-12 AND HIGHER EDUCATION, IMPROVING HEALTH AND HEALTH CARE, UPGRADING TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE, SUPPORTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, REFORMING THE STATE FISCAL SYSTEM, AND REDUCING POVERTY.
