EDUCATION/TRAINING - BUF PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL TRAINING TO COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS IN THE AREAS OF NON-PROFIT MANAGEMENT BOARD DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL ISSUES, ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY & SKILL & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. BUF ALSO OPERATES A NON-PROFIT RESOURCE LIBRARY & COMPUTER RESOURCE CENTER TO BE USED BY NON-PROFIT GROUPS, PROVIDE SUPPORT TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 261 YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WERE SERVED THROUGH POSTSECONDARY PROGRAMMING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPSW, SUPPORT FOR COLLEGE APPLICATIONS AND MORE.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/PHILANTROPHY - BUF PARTNERS WITH NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATIONS & RESIDENTS TO INITIATE COMMUNITY PROBLEM SOLVING EFFORTS THAT IDENTIFY UNMET SOCIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEEDS IN OREGON'S LOW INCOME COMMUNITIES. THE ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED THRU A WIDE RANGE OF COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION. THRU EDUCATIONAL & OUTREACH INITIATIVES, BUF INCREASES AWARENESS TO SOCIAL, ECONOMIC & CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF PHILANTROPHY, BUILDS THE CAPACITY OF INDIVIDUALS TO GIVE & ENCOURAGE GREATER PHILANTROPIC AWARENESS. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021, 11 GRANTEES RECEIVED 30,000 TO SUPPORT CULTURALLY-SPECIFIC, SMALL NONPROFITS TO HELP THEM WEATHER THE IMPACT OF COVID 19.
