THE MISSION OF IMMIGRATION COUNSELING SERVICE (ICS) IS TO STRENGTHEN OREGON'S COMMUNITIES AND HELP BRING STABILITY TO INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES BY PROVIDING LEGAL SERVICES, OUTREACH, AND EDUCATION TO IMMIGRANT HOUSEHOLDS IN OREGON AND SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON. ICS BELIEVES EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO REPUTABLE LEGAL COUNSEL AND REPRESENTATION.

IMMIGRATION COUNSELING SERVICE (ICS) PROVIDES AFFORDABLE LEGAL SERVICES FOR IMMIGRATION ISSUES SUCH AS FAMILY VISA PETITIONS, PERMANENT RESIDENCY, CITIZENSHIP APPLICATIONS, CONSULAR PROCESSING, REPRESENTATION BEFORE USCIS, RENEWAL OF WORK PERMITS/RESIDENT CARDS, DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA), ASYLUM, AND DEFENSE AGAINST REMOVAL PROCEEDINGS. ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE OBTAINING U AND T VISAS. ICS HAD OVER 1,800 OPEN CASES IN 2021.
IMMIGRATION COUNSELING SERVICE (ICS) THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH THE VERA INSTITUTE OF JUSTICE PROVIDES IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES TO CHILDREN DETAINED IN STAFF-SECURE, SHELTER, AND TRANSITIONAL/LONG TERM FOSTER CARE FACILITIES. ICS PROVIDES KNOW YOUR RIGHTS ORIENTATIONS WHICH TEACH CHILDREN THEIR RIGHTS WHILE IN DETENTION. ICS CREATES INDIVIDUAL PLANS FOR EACH CHILD AND ACCOMPANIES THEM FOR APPEARANCE BEFORE IMMIGRATION COURT.
IMMIGRATION COUNSELING SERVICE (ICS) PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING VICTIMS. THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH THE UNITED STATES COMMITTEE ON REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS (USCRI), ICS PROVIDES SOCIAL SERVICES ADVOCACY, CASE MANAGEMENT AND REFERRAL SERVICES TO TRAFFICKING SURVIVORS.
IMMIGRATION COUNSELING SERVICE (ICS) PROVIDES KNOW YOUR RIGHTS TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS AROUND IMMIGRATION ISSUES WITH A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY GROUPS, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS, AND IMMIGRANTS RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS, AND HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES PROVIDERS IN THE OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON AREA. IN 2021, BECAUSE OF COVID, ICS DID NOT CONDUCT OUTREACH IN PERSON, BUT DID SEVERAL VIRTUAL OUTREACH PROJECTS. ICS STARTED A FUNDRASING DIRECLTY FOR THE IMMIGRANT RELIEF FUND TO AID IN COSTS FOR INDIGENT CLIENTS.
