MEMBER SERVICES:THE WGA PROVIDES A NUMBER OF MEMBER SERVICES FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR MEMBERS, ALLOWING THEM TO GROW THEIR BUSINESS MORE EFFECTIVELY AND SOUNDLY. TO HELP MEMBERS AT HOME, TO KEEP THEIR BUSINESS UP TO DATE WITH TRENDS AND REGULATIONS, THE WGA PROVIDES OSHA KITS, FOOD SAFETY KITS, GROCERY INDUSTRY WEBINARS, AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES MANUALS. FURTHER, THE WGA OFFERS VARIOUS SERVICES IN THE COMMUNICAITONS DEPARTMENT TO KEEP OUR MEMBERS INFORMED ABOUT CURRENT INDUSTRY TRENDS AND NEWS. - WEEKLY PRESIDENTS LETTER WHICH OFFERS TIDBITS ON WISCONSIN RETAILERS, WAREHOUSES AND VENDORS, THE ECONOMY, GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS, AND OTHER INDUSTRY INFORMATION SPECIFIC TO WISCONSIN.- WISCONSIN GROCER MAGAZINE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT PRODUCTS, LEGISLATION, VENDORS, MEMBER EVENTS, ETC.
THE WGA GIVES MEMBERS THE CHANCE TO NETWORK, PARTICIPATE IN THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS, EDUCATE THEMSELVES AND SHOW OFF THEIR PRODUCT THROUGH VARIOUS EVENTS. THE TWO MAIN EVENTS THE WGA HOSTS IN THIS CATEGORY EACH YEAR ARE:- GROCERY INDUSTRY GOLF OUTING WHERE MEMBERS CAN NETWORK AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEERS AND VENDORS.- WGA INNOVATION EXPO WHICH INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS, AN INDUSTRY TRADE SHOW, OPPORTUNITY TO HONOR STAR-GROCERS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AND MORE.
THE WGA PROVIDES GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS SERVICES. THESE SERVICES ALLOW OUR MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS AND STAY INFORMED ON IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE MATTERS THAT AFFECT THEIR BUSINESS. SOME OF THESE SERVICES INCLUDE:- WEEKLY OR BI-WEEKLY LEGISLATIVE REPORTS WITH ESSENTIAL WGA-SPECIFIC ISSUES AND BITS OF WHAT'S HAPPENING LEGISLATIVELY AND POLITICALLY IN OUR STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.- THE ISSUANCE OF LEGISLATIVE ALERTS THROUGH THE ACTNOW! WEBSITE ON ISSUES THAT NEED IMMEDIATE ACTION.- THE "GROCERS IN THE CAPITOL DAY" EVENT WHICH BRINGS WGA MEMBERS TO MADISON TO EDUCATE THEM ON GROCERY RELATED ISSUES BEING DISCUSSED AT THE CAPITOL, RECEIVE POLITICAL UPDATES FROM LEGISLATIVE LEADERS AND MEET WITH THEIR OWN ELECTED OFFICIALS.
