PROJECT HANDUP PROVIDES WOMEN WITH A HAND UP TO POSITIVELY NAVIGATE LIFE'S CHALLENGES THROUGH A COMMUNITY CALLED THE GATEHOUSE. THE GATEHOUSE IS A SUPPORTIVE LIVING COMMUNITY WHERE WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN CRISIS DISCOVER NEW PATHS FOR PERMANENT CHANGE. WOMEN WHO NEED A HAND UP TO PERMANENTLY END CYCLES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, UNDEREMPLOYMENT, REPETITIVE JAIL TERMS, OR EVEN A TRAGIC DIVORCE ARE SERVED IN THIS LIVING COMMUNITY. FOOD, CLOTHES, COUNSELING, LIFE-SKILLS TRAINING, FURTHER EDUCATION, TRANSPORTATION, CHILDCARE, AND HEALTHCARE ARE ALL PROVIDED THROUGH THE GATEHOUSE.

THE GATEHOUSE IS A SUPPORTIVE LIVING COMMUNITY WHERE WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN CRISIS ARE OFFERED THE OPPORTUNITY OF SAFE REFUGE, AMPLE TIME, AND THE PRACTICAL RESOURCES NEEDED TO ALLOW THEM TO DISCOVER NEW PATHWAYS FOR PERMANENT POSITIVE CHANGE. THIS WILL LEAD TO ENDING THE PERVASIVE CYCLES OF POVERTY, ABUSE, UNDER-EDUCATION, UNDER-EMPLOYMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT. WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM A MYRIAD OF CRISIS SITUATIONS ARE WELCOMED HERE TO FIND THEIR WAY TO HEALING AND SELF-SUPPORTIVENESS. THE GATEHOUSE OFFERS EDUCATION IN ALL LIFE SKILLS AREAS AND PRACTICAL RESOURCES NEEDED TO SUCCEED (HOUSING, CHILDCARE, RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION, FOOD, CLOTHING, LEGAL, MEDICAL, PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING, STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAM).
