ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT - OUR GROUP GREW TO 16,000 MEMBERS ON FACEBOOK AND CONTINUED TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS AND DISCUSSIONS. OUR EVENTS RESULTED IN US PAYING OUT ~30,000 TO PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS AND PARTNER NOT FOR PROFITS. WE BROUGHT OUR LOCAL RESTAURANT OWNERS AND MANAGERS TOGETHER TWICE TO DISCUSS KEY ISSUES THAT NEED COLLECTIVE ACTION. FOOD SECURITY - WE DELIVERED OVER 2000 MEALS TO PEOPLE IN NEED ACROSS LOCAL WINTER AND EMERGENCY SHELTERS, AND MIGRANT SHELTERS DURING THE MIGRANT CRISIS. WE PARTNERED WITH CHURCHES,NON PROFITS, RESTAURANTS, OTHER COMMUNITY GROUPS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. SUSTAINABILITY - WE ARE BUILDING OUR COMMUNITY AS ILLINOIS' FIRST GREEN DINING HUB IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ILLINOIS GREEN BUSINESS PROGRAM. WE HAVE TAKEN THIS CONCEPT OUT THROUGH MEDIA CHANNELS, PARTICIPATION IN REGIONAL CONFERENCES AND WE HAVE COMMITTED TO SPEND 25,000 OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS IN MAKING ILLINOIS FIRST GREEN DINING HUB A REALITY IN A COMMERCIALLY RESPONSIBLE WAY.
