EMILY GRIFFITH FOUNDATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS, PROGRAM SUPPORT, AND WRAPAROUND STUDENT SUPPORTS TO ENSURE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE MORE THAN 8,000 STUDENTS WHO ATTEND EMILY GRIFFITH TECHNICAL COLLEGE EACH YEAR. PROGRAM SUPPORTS ARE OFTEN PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF INSTRUCTOR SALARIES, START-UP COSTS FOR A NEW PROGRAM OR PROJECT OR CAPITAL EXPENSES FOR BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES. WRAPAROUND STUDENT SUPPORTS GO BEYOND TRADITIONAL SUPPORT -- I.E., SCHOLARSHIPS -- TO OFFER FINANCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORTS THAT HELP REMOVE BARRIERS TO PROGRAM COMPLETION. EXAMPLES INCLUDE: BUS PASSES, AN ON-CAMPUS FOOD PANTRY, ACADEMIC TUTORS, STUDENT NAVIGATORS, ADAPTIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, AND A STUDENT SUPPORT FUND THAT AWARDS EMERGENCY FUNDS TO STUDENTS (WHO PROVE NEED AND ELIGIBILITY BY COMPLETING AN APPLICATION) TO HELP PAY FOR NON-TUITION EXPENSES LIKE TRANSPORTATION, RENT, CHILDCARE, AND HEALTHCARE.
