PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN WEST OAKLAND TO AFFORD FRESH FOODS AND GROCERIES DURING THE PANDEMIC BY ENABLING DISCOUNTS AND SUBSIDIES ON PURCHASES MADE AT THE GROCERY STORE. THE GROCERY STORE PROVIDED UP 50% OFF IN DISCOUNTS TO CUSTOMERS WHO PAID WITH SNAP/CALFRESH FOR PURCHASES OF QUALIFYING ITEMS SUCH AS FRUITS AND VEGETABLES, MEAT PRODUCTS, DAIRY PRODUCTS AND STAPLE GROCERIES.
