RIVER HERITAGE CONSERVANCY CREATES, MAINTAINS, AND PRESERVES PARKLANDS ALONG THE OHIO RIVER TO SERVE REGIONAL RECREATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL NEEDS IN THE SOUTHERN INDIANA AND LOUISVILLE METRO AREA. IN 2018, THE CONSERVANCY: ACQUIRED PLANNING CONTROL OF MORE THAN 300 ACRES FOR THE INITIAL ORIGIN PARK" SITE; SECURED A COLLABORATIVE PLANNING AGREEMENT WITH FIVE PUBLIC AGENCIES; ASSESSED REGIONAL RECREATION NEEDS; AND COMPLETED INITIAL ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES. THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE FIRM OLIN COMPLETED A MASTER PLAN IN 2019; MORE THAN 30 MEETINGS INTRODUCED THE PLAN TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE FOLLOWING YEAR. THE CONSERVANCY RAISED OVER $700,000 TO BUILD THE PARK'S FIRST AMENITY, THE SILVER CREEK BLUEWAY, DESIGNED IN 2021 BY JOSEPH & JOSEPH + BRAVURA FOR CONSTRUCTION IN 2022.
