VETERANS ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO MENTORING YOUTH AND SPONSORING WHOLESOME PROGRAMS IN OUR COMMUNITY, ADVOCATING PATRIOTISM AND HONOR, PROMOTING STRONG NATIONAL SECURITY AND DEVOTING TO FELLOW VETERANS THROUGH FINANCIAL, SOCIAL, AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. THE AMERICAN LEGION HAS 4 PILLARS UNDER WHICH ALL PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FALL: (1) VETERAN'S AFFAIRS & REHABILITATION; (2) PROMOTE THE AMERICAN LEGION; (3) PROMOTE AMERICANISM; AND (4) CHILDREN & YOUTH. OUR MISSION IS TO DEVELOP AND PROMOTE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES RELATING TO EACH OF THESE 4 PILLARS UPON WHICH THE AMERICAN LEGION IS BUILT.

GRANTS AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO DOMESTIC ORGANIZATIONS: $350 IN DONATIONS TO THE VA CLINIC IN COLLEGE STATION, TX TO PROVIDE WATER FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. $500 DONATION TO MEALS FOR VETS TO PROVIDE MEALS TO VETERANS, $2,700 DONATION TO SUPPORT THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY PROGRAMS, $1,900 DONATION TO THE AMERICAN LEGION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR OF THOSE VETERANS WHO PASSED IN THE YEAR AND WERE MEMBERS OF THE POST, $3,117 DONATION TO BOY SCOUT TROOP #159 TO COVER THEIR CHARTER, $500 TO RUDDER HIGH SCHOOL TO SPONSOR THE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS TEAM, $500 TO PROJECT HOPE TO ASSIST CHILDREN IN NEED OF CLOTHES, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, ETC., $400 TO GRIMES COUNTY 4-H CLUB IN SUPPORT OF THEIR SHOOTING TEAM, $220 TO BOYS & GIRLS STATE TO HOST BBQ LUNCHEON, AND $271 TO ASSIST IN HANDING OUT TRICK OR TREAT CANDY AT THE LOCAL RECREATION CENTER.


GRANTS AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO DOMESTIC INDIVIDUALS: $14,850 IN GRANTS TO 45 HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS TO ATTEND BOY'S STATE PROGRAM VIRTUALLY, $2,723 TO PURCHASE AND MAIL PERSONAL ITEMS TO LOCAL ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS DEPLOYED OVERSEAS, $16,085 IN GRANTS TO INDIVIDUAL VETERANS FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE WITH LIVING EXPENSES, $992 TO PURCHASE CHRISTMAS GIFT BAGS FOR VETERANS IN ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES, $1,500 SCHOLARSHIP TO US NAVAL ACADEMY FOR A QUALIFIED GRADUATING SENIOR, $1,500 SCHOLARSHIP TO COLLEGE STATION ISD FOR A QUALIFIED GRADUATING SENIOR.
