TO REDUCE VIOLENCE IN THE LIVES OF YOUTH AND IN OUR COMMUNITIES BY BUILDING A TEAM OF YOUTH WHO COMMUNICATE A MESSAGE OF NON-VIOLENCE.

Part 3 - Line 4a
MEDIA ARTS PROGRAM (MAP)AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM : PROVIDE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH TO EXAMINE THE VIOLENCE YOUTH HAVE EXPERIENCED. THE PROGRAMS INCLUDES PHOTOGRAPHY, JOURNALISM, VIDEOGRAPHY AND BROADCASTING AND SERVES AS A VEHICLE OF EXPRESSION, COMMUNICATIONS AND EDUCATION.
OUTREACH: USING THESE TOOLS, LOVE YOUTH THEN REACH OUT TO THEIR PEERS TO ARTICULATE THE IMPACT OF VIOLENCE ON THEIR LIVES AND ON THEIR COMMUNITIES. OUTREACH IS CONDUCTED IN LOCAL SCHOOLS THAT REQUEST OUR PROGRAM DUE TO THE NEEDS OF THEIR STUDENT POPULATION.
LEADERSHIP CAMP: LOVE YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS FOR ONE WEEK IN THE SUMMER TO LEARN SKILLS OF PUBLIC SPEAKING, LEARN ABOUT ISSUES THAT AFFECT YOUTH AND CAN BE THE ROOTS CAUSES OF VIOLENCE, AS WELL AS LEARNING FILM TECHNIQUES.
