THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA, INC., OPERATES ACCORDING TO ITS CHARTER IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION. IT OFFERS DAILY, AFTER SCHOOL, AND SUMMER PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES WHICH TARGET CHARACTER, LEADERSHIP, AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ALL YOUTH AGES 7 TO 18. PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE AND TUTORING, HEALTH EDUCATION, INTER-PERSONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT, COMPUTER LAB, CHESS CLUB, ORGANIZED SPORTS AND A GAME ROOM. THE CLUB CURRENTLY SERVES A MEMBERSHIP OF OVER 350 LOCAL YOUTHS. PARENTS, TEACHERS AND CONCERNED CITIZENS REPORT IMPROVED GRADES, POSITIVE CHANGES IN ATTITUDES AND A STRONGER SENSE OF WELL-BEING AS A RESULT OF THESE PROGRAMS.
