Part 3 - Line 1
CHILDREN COUNSELING: HOME IS A FAITH-BASED PROVIDER OF MENTAL HEALTH AND LEARNING SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WITHOUT REGARD TO COLOR, RACE, GENDER, RELIGION, OR SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS. ALL ARE WELCOME! WE PROVIDE QUALITY MENTAL HEALTH CARE TO CHILDREN 3 YEARS OLD THROUGH ADOLESCENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. ALTHOUGH MOST CLIENTS ARE CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES, WE ALSO PROVIDE MARRIAGE COUNSELING AND INDIVIDUAL ADULT THERAPY. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROVIDING QUALITY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO HELP STRENGTHEN THE FAMILY UNIT INSTEAD OF DIVIDING FAMILIES DUE TO SOMETIMES UNBEARABLE STRUGGLES. PART OF OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO HEALTH INSURANCE OR DEDUCTIBLES AND CO-PAYS SO HIGH, IT WOULD IMPOSSIBLE FOR THOSE CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND INDIVIDUALS TO RECEIVE THE HELP THEY NEED. THERE ARE ALSO ACADEMIC NEEDS AMONG CHILDREN WHO ALSO STRUGGLE WITH EMOTIONAL, MENTAL, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ISSUES.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
OVER 2,000 MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SESSIONS WERE PROVIDED ON A SLIDING FEE SCHEDULE TO OVER 200 INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES AND CHILDREN. IN ADDITION NEARLY 100 GROUP SESSIONS OF SOCIAL SKILLS WERE PROVIDED. WHILE THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A STRONG PART OF OUR MISSION, THERE ARE MUCH GREATER NEEDS NOW SINCE THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC. MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES ARE ON THE RISE DUE TO THE ADDED STRESS OF ISOLATION, JOB LOSS, HOMESCHOOLING, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, ILLNESS, COMMUNICATION, OR RELATIONSHIP ISSUES, OR EVEN DEATH OF A FAMILY MEMBER.
TUTORING SERVICES TO CHILDREN WHO HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY WITH ONLINE SCHOOLING. THIS IS PARTICULARLY NEEDED BY CHILDREN WHO SHOW LEARNING DISABILITIES, ATTENTION DEFICITS, AND THOSE CHILDREN WHO STRUGGLE TO MEET ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS. WHILE THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A STRONG PART OF OUR MISSION, THERE ARE MUCH GREATER NEEDS NOW SINCE THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC
