SINCE THE YEAR 2000, VETERINARY RECORDS INDICATE 1,310 DOGS AND 873 CATS FOR A TOTAL OF 2,183 PETS RECEIVED VETERINARY SERVICES BEFORE BEING ADOPTED BY THE END OF 2021.IN 2021, THE ARK RE-HOMED A TOTAL OF 37 ANIMALS. OF THAT TOTAL, 27 WERE DOGS AND 10 WERE CATS. OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF INTAKES AND ADOPTIONS, SAVING AS MANY LIVES AS POSSIBLE. THE ARK IS FUNDED THROUGH ADOPTION FEES, PRIVATE DONATIONS, AND GRANTS OBTAINED THROUGH VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS. IN APRIL 2010, THE ARK PURCHASED A BUILDING WHICH WE CONTINUE TO RENOVATE AND EXPAND SERVICES. IN ADDITION TO VETTING AND RE-HOMING PETS, THE ARK EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ON TOPICS CONCERNING PET CARE AND TRAINING. THESE TOPICS INCLUDE SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAMS, CRATE TRAINING, AND PET SAFETY. EVERY PET TAKEN INTO THE ARK FACILITY RECEIVES COMPREHENSIVE VETTING, BEFORE THEY ENTER THE FACILITY TO BE OFFERED FOR ADOPTION. THIS ALLOWS PETS TO BE IN TAKE HOME CONDITION AS THE TIME OF ADOPTION. THIS ALLOWS PETS TO BE INTRODUCED INTO THEIR NEW HOMES WITHOUT THE STRESS OF ADDITIONAL MEDICAL PROCEDURES. THIS MODEL PROVIDES HIGHER ADOPTION RATES AND LOWER RETURN RATES.
