MANAGE CONSTRUCTION CAREER ACADEMIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND ADULTS IN ALASKA. EACH CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY HAS BEEN ABLE TO MEET OR EXCEEDED ITS GOALS IN TRAINING AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES.
PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR EXISTING ALASKA CONSTRUCTION WORKFORCE. THE AK-CESCL CLASS HAS SUCCESSFULLY TRAINED OVER 400 PEOPLE IN 2016-17 TO ENABLE CONTRACTORS TO COMPLY WITH DEC AND OSHA REQUIREMENTS TO HAVE A CERTIFIED STORM WATER PERSON ON THE NECESSARY JOBSITES. CQM CLASSES WERE CONDUCTED TO ENABLE CONTRACTORS TO COMPLY WITH THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS REQUIREMENTS.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO STUDENTS PURSUING CONSTRUCTION RELATED POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION TO AID THEM IN THEIR STUDIES. RELATED COURSES OF STUDIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, ARCHITECTURAL & ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY, CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN TECHNOLOGIES, ACCOUNTING, INSURANCE & BONDING, AND HUMAN RESOURCES.
