RESTORING, ENHANCING AND FOREVER PROTECTING LOUISVILLE'S OLMSTED-DESIGNED PARKS AND PARKWAYS.

THE CONSERVANCY RAISES FUNDS EACH YEAR FOR MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS TO ENHANCE OUR PARKS. FOR EXAMPLE, IN 2021, WE RAISED OVER $1.5 MILLION AS PART OF OUR PARKS FOR ALL CAMPAIGN. THESE FUNDS HAVE BEEN USED TO REFURBISH SPORTS COURTS IN ALGONQUIN PARK, ADD CHESS TABLES TO SHAWNEE PARK, REFURBISH LIMESTONE STEPS IN CHEROKEE PARK AND DEVELOP MASTER PLANS FOR PROJECTS IN BINGHAM AND ELLIOT PARKS. THESE FUNDS ARE ALSO USED TO CONTINUE OUR TEAM FOR HEALTHY PARKS CREW WORK IN MAINTAINING THE PARK PROPERTIES.
THE CONSERVANCY WORKS TO CONNECT NEIGHBORS AND COMMUNITIES TO OUR PARKS THROUGH SPECIAL EVENTS, COMMUNITY PARK PLAY PROGRAMS, AND A PARK STEWARD PROGRAM OF VOLUNTEERS TO HELP MAINTAIN THE GREENSPACE AND WOODLANDS.
THROUGH ADVERTISING, SOCIAL MEDIA AND OUR ANNUAL REPORT, THE CONSERVANCY WORKS TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY INFORMED OF CHANGES TO OUR PARKS SUCH AS ROAD CLOSURES IN CHEROKEE PARK, MAJOR RENOVATION AND REVITALIZATION PROJECTS IN ELLIOT AND BINGHAM PARKS, AND HOW WE ARE BEING GOOD STEWARDS OF THE FUNDS CONTRIBUTED FOR PARK ENGAGEMENT AND RESTORATION.
