THE WEST PALM BEACH POLICE FOUNDATION SECURES FUNDING TO AID IN THE PREVENTION OF CRIME IN OUR COMMUNITY AND ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT BY PROVIDING NEW TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR OUR CITIZENS, BUSINESSES AND POLICE OFFICERS.

SHOP WITH A COP IS A PROGRAM THAT PAIRS CHILDREN AND POLICE OFFICERS TO LEARN ABOUT CRIME PREVENTION AND ANTI-GANG PROGRAMMING. ITS DESIGN IS TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE POLICE AND THE COMMUNITY THEY SERVE. POLICE OFFICERS AND CHILDREN ARE MATCHED TOGETHER AND GO ON A SHOPPING EVENT TO FOSTER CLOSER AND TRUSTWORTHY RELATIONSHIPS.
RUN WITH A COP. THE FOUNDATION SPONSORS A 5K RACE TO RAISE FUNDS. THE MAIN GOAL IS TO BRING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER WITH POLICE OFFICERS TO SEE WHO IS PROTECTING THE COMMUNITY AND GET TO KNOW INDIVIDUAL POLICE OFFICERS. GETTING TO KNOW INDIVIDUAL POLICE OFFICERS AND CREATING TRUST IS A MAJOR FUNCTION OF THE FOUNDATION. THE EXPENSES FOR THIS ACCOMPLISHMENT WAS $3804.
THE FOUNDATION ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THREE AUTO DEALERS WHERE THEY WOULD CONTRIBUTE FUNDS PER CAR SOLD TO BE USED TO HELP VICTIMS OF CRIME.
