PROMOTE, PROTECT AND REPRESENT EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL AND BUSINESS INTEREST OF FARMERS OF THE TWO COUNTY AREA AND TO ENHANCE THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

DURING THE COURSE OF THE YEAR SEVERAL VOLUNTEERS HOSTED FARM TOURS WHICH PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOWCASE AGRICULTURE'S DIVERSITY AND IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITIES ECONOMY. THE TOURS EDUCATE CONSUMERS LOCAL OFFICIAL'S AND STAKE HOLDERS SO WE CAN WORK TOWARDS THE BETTERMENT OF AGRICULTURE.


WE SUPPORT OUR 4-H AND FFA STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WE PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND ASSIST STUDENTS SHOWING AND SELLING THEIR PROJECTS AT THE FAIR. WE ALSO SUPPORTED THE 4-H LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM WHICH EXPOSES STUDENTS TO AGRICULTURE AND THE LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY. THE PROGRAM ENABLES YOUTH TO DEVELOP DECISION-MAKING, EVALUATING, AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR THE APPROPRIATE SELECTION OF THE LIVESTOCK SPECIES: BEEF CATTLE, AND SWINE.


WE CELEBRATED FARM CITY WEEK WITH AN EVENT 'BRINGING THE FARM TO THE CITY!' THIS NATIONAL EVENT CELEBRATES THE INTERDEPENDENCE BETWEEN RURAL AND URBAN COMMUNITIES. WE TAKE THE TIME TO EDUCATE NON-FARMING COMMUNITIES ABOUT THE ROLE AGRICULTURE PLAYS IN OUR COMMUNITIES.
