TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION IN AMERICAN OVERSEAS SCHOOLS BY PROVIDING CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS, EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGES, AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES TO AFFILIATES AND THEIR MEMBERS.

PROVIDED MEMBERS AND THEIR AFFILIATES ACCESS TO EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES AND MATERIALS AND SERVED AS AN EDUCATIONAL CLEARING HOUSE AND CONSULTING SERVICE PROVIDER. MEMBERS HAD ACCESS TO VARIOUS RESOURCES AND SERVICES FROM NAIS, NAESP, EBSCO AND THE WORLD VIRTUAL SCHOOL PROJECT. SCHOOLS WERE PROVIDED WITH ONGOING SUPPORT FOR THE MANY PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM SCHOOLS CLOSINGS AND THE NEED TO DELIVER ONLINE SCHOOLING. IN ORDER TO ENABLE THE DELIVERY OF ONLINE LEARNING THE ASSOCIATION GRANT PROVIDED WITH THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO COVER ZOOM ACCOUNTS FOR ALL TEACHERS. A VARIETY OF LEARNING PLATFORMS AIMED AN ENHANCING ONLINE LEARNING WERE ALSO PROVIDED. EMOTIONAL SUPPORT WAS PROVIDED TO SCHOOL LEADERS AND TEACHERS THROUGH ONLINE SERVICES DELIVERED BY TRAINED PROFESSIONALS. THE TRI-ANNUAL NEWSLETTER FOR MEMBERS AND OTHER INTERESTED ASSOCIATES WAS ALSO PUBLISHED THAT YEAR.
PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND SPECIAL TRAINING IN THE AREAS OF TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION, DESIGN THINKING, FLEXIBLE PLANNING SCENARIOS TO MEET THE CHANGING DEMANDS IMPOSED BY THE ONLINE, IN SCHOOL AND HYBRID LEARNING SCENARIOS, GOVERNANCE AND FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR BOARD MEMBERS AND HEADS OF SCHOOL, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING, NGSS, MATHEMATICS, AND COUNSELING.
THE 2020 ANNUAL EDUCATORS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE IN PANAMA WAS POSTPONED AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC RELATED TRAVEL; RESTRICTIONS AND SCHOOL CLOSINGS. AS A RESULT THE ASSOCIATION DEVELOPED A ROBUST ONLINE STAFF DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THAT WAS DELIVERED TO MEMBER SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THE ONLINE OFFERINGS RANGED FROM COURSES TO HELP TSCHOOL LEADERS AND TEACHERS DELIVER AN ONLINE CURRICULUM TO THOSE AIMED AT SUPPORTING ALL STAKEHOLDERS WITH THE NEW REALITIES OF AT-HOME PARENTAL ACADEMIC SUPPORT AS WELL AS THE MOST EFFICIENT AND ENGAGING ONLINE INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS TO DELIVER AND SUPPORT STUDENT LEARNING. AMONG THE MANY TOPICS COVERED WERE GOVERNANCE, DESIGN THINKING AS APPLIED TO STRATEGIC PLANNING, SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION, MATHEMATICS, COUNSELING AND CHILD PROTECTION.
