COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: HOMES OF HOPE DEVELOPS SAFE, STABLE, ENERGY-EFFICIENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW - TO MODERATE - INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN SOUTH CAROLINA. WE STRIVE FOR BIG IMPACT, DEVELOPING WHOLE NEIGHBORHOODS AND MIXED-INCOME COMMUNITIES INSTEAD OF JUST A HOUSE AT A TIME. OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS, HOMES OF HOPE HAS DEVELOPED 588 HOMES.
CLIENT DEVELOPMENT: OUR AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM CONNECTS LOW - TO MODERATE - INCOME FAMILIES WITH SERVICES THAT WILL HELP THEM BOLSTER THEIR FINANCIAL STABILITY. WE FOCUS ON FIRST PLACING FAMILIES IN SAFE, MARKET QUALITY, ENERGY-EFFICIENT HOMES THAT THEY CAN BE PROUD TO CALL HOME. FROM THERE, WE WORK INDIVIDUALLY WITH OUR CLIENTS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL WELLNESS TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP THAT HELPS THEM CRAFT THEIR OWN PERSONAL ROAD MAP TO SUCCESS. HOMES OF HOPE CURRENTLY HAS 809 HOUSING CLIENTS, 364 OF THESE ARE CHILDREN.
MEN'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: THE MEN'S WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IS A ONE-YEAR JOB TRAINING AND MENTORING PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES A NECESSARY STEPPING STONE FOR MEN TO BEGIN A NEW LIFE COMPLETELY DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE. MEN ENTER OUR PROGRAM AFTER COMPLETING AN APPROVED RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAM. THEY SPEND THEIR YEAR WITH US COMPLETING BOTH CLASSROOM AND ON-THE-JOB TRAINING IN THE FIELD OF CONSTRUCTION THAT PREPARES THEM TO BE SKILLED EMPLOYEES AND SELF- SUSTAINING ADULTS WHEN THEY GRADUATE. THEIR TRAINING CULMINATES IN THE PRODUCTION OF 4 HOMES FOR FAMILIES AT OR BELOW 30% OF THE AMI. OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS, 326 MEN HAVE COMPLETED OUR PROGRAM.
