THE UNC HEALTH FOUNDATION, INC. SECURES FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER RESOURCES FOR THE UNC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND UNC HEALTH TO SUPPORT THE HIGHEST QUALITY CLINICAL CARE, LIFE-CHANGING RESEARCH AND INNOVATIVE EDUCATION.

ORIGINALLY CHARTERED IN 1949 AS THE MEDICAL FOUNDATION OF NORTH CAROLINA, INC., UNC HEALTH FOUNDATION FOSTERS PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT OF CLINICAL CARE, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FOR AREAS ACROSS UNC HEALTH, INCLUDING UNC LINEBERGER COMPREHENSIVE CANCER CENTER, UNC CHILDREN'S, THE UNC SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AND MANY OTHER DIVISIONS, CENTERS AND INSTITUTES.AT UNC HEALTH FOUNDATION, WE WORK DILIGENTLY FOR THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS WHO IMPROVE HEALTH FOR ALL. WE POWER PHILANTHROPY TO SUPPORT THE HIGHEST QUALITY CLINICAL CARE, LIFE-CHANGING RESEARCH AND INNOVATIVE EDUCATION AT HOME AND AROUND THE WORLD.IN THE PAST FISCAL YEAR, THE FOUNDATION RECEIVED MORE THAN 25,000 GIFTS FROM OVER 22,000 DONORS. CULTIVATION AND STEWARDSHIP PROGRAMS ACROSS THE FOUNDATION INCLUDE RECOGNITION SOCIETIES, DONOR WALLS, ANNUAL REPORTS AND ENDOWMENT IMPACT REPORTS. THE DEVELOPMENT STAFF PERSONALLY ENGAGED WITH DONORS THROUGH PHONE CALLS AND VISITS, ALSO CULTIVATING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH OUTREACH PROGRAMS AND EVENTS, BOTH ON AND OFF CAMPUS.THE UNC HEALTH FOUNDATION MANAGES OVER 1400 FUNDS, COMPRISED OF ENDOWED, RESTRICTED AND UNRESTRICTED ACCOUNTS. THESE FUNDS SUPPORT THE EXISTING AND EMERGING NEEDS OF UNC HEALTH: RESEARCH, PATIENT CARE AND FAMILY SUPPORT, AND SCHOLARSHIPS.THE PHYSICIANS, SCIENTISTS AND RESEARCHERS AT UNC HEALTH CONSTANTLY STRIVE TO DISCOVER BETTER WAYS TO CARE FOR PATIENTS THROUGH PREVENTING AND TREATING DISEASE. THE FUNDS RAISED BY UNC HEALTH ARE ESSENTIAL TO THE CONTINUED SUCCESS AND PROJECTED NEED FOR BETTER ACCESS TO CARE, BETTER TREATMENTS AND BETTER OUTCOMES.
