THE ORGANIZATION IS A NON-PROFIT WHICH OPERATES A LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTER IN SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

SINCE THE CENTER OPENED IN 4/99 THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 1500 PERSONS WHO PURCHASED MEMBERSHIPS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED AT THE CENTER BY THE ORGANIZATION. THE COMMUNITY CENTER HOUSES A FITNESS CENTER, SWIMMING POOL, OUTDOOR PLAYGROUND, TENNIS AND BASKETBALL COURTS, AND A GYMNASIUM WITH A WALKING TRACK. CONFERENCE ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE WHERE CATERING IS OFFERED. THE CENTER HAS WORKED CLOSELY TO RESPOND TO COMMUNITY NEEDS AND CONTINUES TO BE A PART OF THE MINGO COUNTY CORONAVIRUS COALITION. THE CENTER IS A VACCINATION SITE. CLINICS HAVE BEEN HELD AT THE CENTER AND WILL CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE UNTIL MINGO COUNTY HAS OVER 75% OF THE POPULATION VACCINATED. MEALS PREPARED AND DISTRIBUTED IN THE COMMUNITY DURING SCHOOL CLOSURES TOTALED 15,532. TOTAL MEALS PROVIDED TO STUDENTS WAS 415.
ANOTHER ATTRACTION OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER IS A SNACK BAR SERVING THE GENERAL PUBLIC INCLUDING EMPLOYEES, MEMBERS AND GUESTS. FOOD AND BEVERAGE CAN BE PROVIDED FROM THIS SITE WHEN CONFERENCES ARE HELD AT THE CENTER.
MARSHALL UNIVERSITY LEARNING CENTER - THIS FACILITY IS OPEN FOR USE BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC. USAGE OF THE COMPUTER LAB INCLUDES HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE,INTERNET SEARCHES AND PRINTING BY STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL AND DURING DAY CAMPS. SMALL ENTREPRENEURS CAN USE THIS FACILITY FOR INTERNET SEARCHING, ORDERING AND REPORTING.
