EARLY HEAD START SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO LOW INCOME INFANT/TODDLER FAMILIES AND IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FAMILY CENTERED SERVICES THAT FACILITATE CHILD DEVELOPMENT, SUPPORT PARENTAL ROLES AND PROMOTE SELF SUFFICIENCY. 166 CHILDREN AND 17 PREGNANT WOMEN SERVED.
THE VIRGINIA INFANT & TODDLER SPECIALIST NETWORK PROVIDED 7,816 HOURS OF COACHING SERVICES TO 287 EARLY CARE PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT VIRGINIA AND CONDUCTED 1,739 TRAINING EVENTS FOR 22,836 CAREGIVERS, TEACHERS, AND DIRECTORS THAT CARE FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED BY 28 INFANT AND TODDLER SPECIALISTS AND CONSULTANTS LOCATED IN 9 REGIONAL OFFICES THROUGHOUT THE STATE, WITH CDR AS THE CENTRAL OFFICE OF THE VA ITSN.
