Part 3 - Line 4a
THE ORGANIZATION EDUCATES THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND ITS SUPPORTERS REGARDING POLICY MATTERS RELATED TO LIFE, MARRIAGE, FAMILY AND RELIGIOUS LIBERTY. THE ORGANIZATION IS ONE OF THE LEADING VOICES IN FLORIDA FOR PRO-LIFE, PRO-MARRIAGE AND PRO-FAMILY ADVOCACY IN THE MEDIA, NEWS, THE LEGISLATURE AND IN CHURCHES ACROSS THE STATE. THE "PROJECT CITIZEN" PROGRAM REGISTERS THOUSANDS OF NEW VOTERS AND EDUCATES MILLIONS THROUGH NON-PARTISAN VOTER GUIDES EVERY TWO YEARS. THE FFPC IS ALSO PASSIONATE ABOUT REACHING THE NEXT GENERATION WITH CONSERVATIVE VALUES AND A CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW. WE HAVE A SCHOLARSHIP FUND THAT SCHOLARSHIPS STUDENTS TO SUMMIT MINISTRIES, TEEN PACT, PATRIOT ACADEMY, AND OTHER SUMMER LEARNING EXPERIENCES FOR STUDENTS AGES 16-24 THAT TEACH LEADERSHIP AND CHARACTER BUILDING IN THE CONTEXT OF CHRISTIAN FAITH. ANNUALLY WE CONDUCT A PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY DAYS AT THE STATE CAPITOL IN TALLAHASSEE. THIS IS A TWO-DAY EVENT THAT TRAINS CITIZENS ON HOW TO SPEAK TO LEGISLATORS, HOW THE COMMITTEE PROCESS WORKS AND WHAT THE BIG ISSUES ARE BEING DISCUSSED IN THAT LEGISLATIVE SESSION. AROUND 300 STUDENTS, PARENTS, PASTORS, PREGNANCY CENTER DIRECTORS AND OTHER BUSINESSPEOPLE ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE. THE EVENT USUALLY INVOLVES A VISIT TO THE SUPREME COURT, A TOUR OF THE HOUSE CHAMBERS AND WATCHING LIVE DEBATE IN COMMITTEES. FINALLY, EDUCATING AND TRAINING PASTORS REGARDING THEIR ROLE IN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND CULTURAL INVOLVEMENT IS AN ACTIVE PART OF THE FFPC'S PROGRAM. IN THE PAST 17 YEARS, THE FFPC HAS DIRECTED, ORGANIZED OR PARTICIPATED IN OVER 137 PASTOR'S CONFERENCES DIRECTLY COMMUNICATING WITH FLORIDA PASTORS AND CHURCH LEADERS. THE FLORIDA CAPITOL PROJECT IS ANOTHER MAJOR INITIATIVE THAT INVOLVES BRINGING PASTORS TO THE CAPITOL TO MEET AND PRAY WITH LEGISLATORS. OUR FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF PASTORAL MINISTRIES FOCUSES ON THIS PROGRAM WHERE WE ARE BRINGING THE SHEPHERDS OF GOD'S GOVERNMENT TO THE SHEPHERDS OF GOD'S CHURCH. IN THE PROCESS IT IS TRANSFORMING THE HEARTS AND MIND OF BOTH PASTORS AND LEGISLATORS ALIKE.
