PRIMARY MEDICAL CARE - ALL OF OUR PATIENTS ARE SEEN BY A BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN OR NURSE PRACTITIONER. TREATMENT AT THE CLINIC INCLUDES PRIMARY CARE, ACCESS TO APPROXIMATELY A DOZEN SPECIALTIES, BLOOD TESTS, IMAGING, FLU SHOTS AND OTHER VACCINATIONS. PATIENTS WHO NEED SPECIALTY CARE OUTSIDE OF THE CLINIC ARE AIDED BY A PATIENT NAVIGATOR WHO HAS ACCESS TO A NETWORK OF PARTNER AGENCIES (CATHOLIC CHARITIES AND THE PRIMARY CARE COALITION), ENABLING ALMOST ALL PATIENTS TO OBTAIN THE COMPLEX SPECIALTY CARE OR SURGERY THEY NEED. PATIENTS ARE ALSO REFERRED TO PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS FOR X-RAYS, MRIS, MAMMOGRAMS AND COLONOSCOPIES. THE MEDICAL PROGRAM SERVED APPROXIMATELY 2,200 PATIENTS IN 2021.
PHARMACY - OUR ON-SITE PHARMACY PROVIDES PATIENTS WITH BOTH PRESCRIPTION AND OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICATIONS FREE OF CHARGE. PATIENT COMPLIANCE WITH TAKING MEDICATIONS IS ENHANCED BY HAVING A PHARMACY, STAFF AND PHARMACISTS ON SITE. THE CLINIC DISTRIBUTED MORE THAN A MILLION DOLLARS IN MEDICATIONS TO PATIENTS IN 2021. PATIENTS ON FIVE OR MORE MEDICATIONS ALSO RECEIVE INDIVIDUAL MEDICATION THERAPY MANAGEMENT COUNSELING AT THE CLINIC.
LIFESTYLE AND HEALTH EDUCATION - MERCY HEALTH CLINIC OFFERS DIABETES EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND LIFESTYLE AND NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION TO PATIENTS. THESE HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS ARE LED BY A PHYSICIAN AND / OR A CERTIFIED NUTRITIONIST WHO HOLD CLASSES WITH PATIENTS IN GROUP SETTINGS AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS, IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH. THE GOAL OF THESE PROGRAMS IS TO CHANGE THE PATIENTS' LIFESTYLE AND TO TEACH THEM HOW TO MANAGE THEIR HEALTH THROUGH THROUGH EXERCISE, MEDICATION AND DIET.
