ALWAYS INSPIRED BY OUR ITALIAN CULTURE, WE DO SO BY EMPOWERING FAMILIES THROUGH THE ARTS, BUILDING COMMUNITY ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE QUALITY FOOD, PROVIDING FOOD EDUCATION, PROMOTING FOOD JUSTICE, CREATING INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITIES, TRAINING, AND JOBS FOR YOUNG ADULTS.

BE A CHEF FOR A DAY (BACFAD BEAT), IS A YOUTH-CENTRIC AND SKILLS-CENTERED DYNAMIC FOOD INITIATIVE THAT OPERATES IN THE GREATER BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON AREA IN MARYLAND AND PROVIDES MEALS, NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION, LIFE, AND CULINARY SKILLS, AND TRAINING TO YOUTH AND THEIR FAMILIES. DURING COVID-19 IT ALSO GREW TO BECOME A COMMUNITY KITCHEN, PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING DAILY HOT MEALS THROUGHOUT THE BALTIMORE METROPOLITAN AREA. THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO PULL OUR COMMUNITY OUT OF HUNGER AND ADDRESS POOR NUTRITION-RELATED DISEASES, HOUSEHOLD INSTABILITY DUE TO FINANCIAL STRUGGLES, AND FOOD INSECURITY.
