THE COMMUNITY ADVOCATE PROGRAM IS AN INNOVATIVE AND INTENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN THE PUBLIC POLICY, LOBBYING AND ADVOCACY SKILLS OF WOMEN LEADERS WHO LIVE IN REGIONS MOVING FROM CONFLICT TO CO-EXISTENCE. TO DATE, 500 WOMEN HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY THE PROGRAM. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO GIVE WOMEN LEADERS THE TOOLS AND SKILLS TO EFFECTIVELY ADVOCATE FOR ISSUES OF CONCERN IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES; TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DIALOGUE ON ISSUES IN THEIR REGION; AND TO GET TO KNOW WOMEN LEADERS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CONFLICT.
IWDC'S INTENSIVE WORKSHOPS AND SKILL TRAINING PROGRAMS PROVIDE INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG WOMEN TO SEEK LEADERSHIP ROLES ACROSS THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR.
