BSI FUNCTIONS AS THE PARENT ORGANIZATION TO BSMH AND PROVIDES OVERALL GOVERNANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION IN KEEPING WITH THE FAITH-BASED MISSION OF THE SISTERS OF BON SECOURS OF THE UNITED STATES, INC. (SISTERS). BSI'S ROLE INCLUDES THE APPROVAL OF BSMH HIGH LEVEL POLICIES, THE STRATEGIC PLAN, SIGNIFICANT TRANSACTIONS SUCH AS MERGERS, JOINT VENTURES, DISSOLUTIONS AND GOVERNANCE STRUCTURES OF BSMH AND RELATED ORGANIZATIONS.THE EXPENSES OF THE ORGANIZATION RELATE TO THE COSTS OF BOARD MEETINGS AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE CATHOLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION (CHA).ECCLESIOLOGY PROGRAM AND THE PUBLIC JURIDIC PERSON (PJP) COLLABORATIVE:THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR MINISTRY FORMATION; COLLABORATION WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF CATHOLIC HEALTH CARE AND PROVIDES THE TRAINING NEEDED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CANONICAL REQUIREMENTS OF CATHOLIC SPONSORSHIP.
