THE NCCMP IS THE ONLY NATIONAL ORGANIZATION DEVOTED EXCLUSIVELY TO PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF THE UNIONS AND THE JOB-CREATING EMPLOYERS OF AMERICA THAT JOINTLY SPONSOR MULTIEMPLOYER RETIREMENT AND WELFARE PLANS AND THE MORE THAN 20 MILLION ACTIVE AND RETIRED AMERICAN WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO RELY ON MULTIEMPLOYER RETIREMENT AND WELFARE PLANS. THE NCCMP'S PURPOSE IS TO ASSURE AN ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH MULTIEMPLOYER PLANS CAN CONTINUE THEIR VITAL ROLE IN PROVIDING RETIREMENT, HEALTH, TRAINING, AND OTHER BENEFITS TO AMERICA'S WORKING WOMEN AND MEN.

MONITOR THE DEVELOPMENTS IN THE EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATIVE, AND JUDICIAL BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT THAT IMPACT MULTIEMPLOYER EMPLOYEE BENEFIT PLANS.


THE COMMITTEE HAD ENTERED INTO A SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH PFIZER, INC. TO BECOME A FOUNDING CORPORATE SPONSOR FOR THE UNITED AGAINST DIABETES CAMPAIGN WHICH ENDED DURING THE YEAR ENDED MAY 31, 2012. THE AGREEMENT WAS FOR A FIVE YEAR PROGRAM AT A CONTRIBUTION AMOUNT OF $350,000 PER YEAR TO FUND A STUDY TO DEVELOP SCREENING AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR DIABETES AND RELATED CHRONIC DISEASES IN HOPES OF IMPROVING THE LIVES AND REDUCING THE LONG-TERM COST OF HEALTH CARE. THE COMMITTEE AGREED TO MAINTAIN THE TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS IN A SEPARATE BANK ACCOUNT IN THE NAME OF THE UNITED AGAINST DIABETES CAMPAIGN. THESE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE STILL HELD IN A SEPARATE BANK ACCOUNT AS OF MAY 31, 2023, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE SEGREGATED AS TEMPORARILY RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO BE RELEASED FROM RESTRICTION UPON BEING DISBURSED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF THE AGREEMENT.DURING THE YEAR ENDED MAY 31, 2014, THE COMMITTEE BEGAN A PENSION RELIEF PROJECT WITH GOAL OF A CREATING A SOLUTION FOR SAFEGUARDING RETIREMENT SECURITY FOR MULTIEMPLOYER PLAN PARTICIPANTS. THE CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED FROM STAKEHOLDERS OF THE NCCMP RETIREMENT SECURITY REVIEW COMMISSION IN CHARGE OF THE PROJECT ARE BEING MAINTAINED IN A SEPARATE BANK ACCOUNT AS OF MAY 31, 2023.
