LAWRENCE ROTARIANS MEET WEEKLY OVER LUNCH AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT. MEMBERS ARE BILLED FOR THE COST OF MEALS, WHICH THE TREASURER PAYS. DURING THE PANDEMIC, THE CLUB PAID MINIMUM MEAL EXPENSES TO HOLD OUR MEETING PLACE BUT DID NOT CHARGE MEMBERS AND REFUNDED MEALS THAT HAD BEEN PREPAID PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC SHUTDOWN.
MONEY IS DISTRIBUTED TO LOCAL CHARITABLE 501 C 3 ORGANIZATIONS, CHARITABLE EFFORTS SPONSORED BY ROTARY INTERNATIONAL AND TO DOMESTIC INDIVIDUALS FOR STUDY DOMESTICALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY.
THE LAWRENCE ROTARY CLUB PAYS DUES TO ITS DISTRICT AND INTERNATIONAL ROTARY ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP FURTHER THE PURPOSE OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL. THE LAWRENCE ROTARY CLUB ALSO PARTICIPATES IN PROGRAMS SPONSORED AT THE DISTRICT AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL, SUCH AS ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY.
