DURING 2022, FUNDS SUPPORTING MISSION MEXICO WERE USED AS FOLLOWS: 1)SPONSORSHIP OF LONG-TERM PAID STAFF MEMBERS WHO HELP CARE FOR AND SUPPORT THE YOUTH. PREVIOUSLY, SHORT-TERM VOLUNTEERS WERE USED, BUT THAT CREATED HIGH TURNOVER. PROVIDED LARGE PART OF FUNDING FOR THIS TRANSITION TO PROVIDE STABILITY AND CONSISTENCY FOR THE YOUTH SERVED. 2)CONTINUED SUPPORT OF LONG-TERM THERAPY FOR MISSION MEXICO HOUSE YOUTH. 60% OF CHILDREN AT THE REFUGE ARE IN BI-WEEKLY THERAPY SESSIONS WITH TWO LOCALLY SOURCED PSYCHOLOGISTS. 3)CONTINUED EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR SEVERAL YOUTH. FUNDS USED FOR SCHOOL FEES, BOOKS, MATERIALS, UNIFORMS AND TUTORS. 4)EXPANDING COMMUNITY OUTREACH CENTER FOR 8-20 YEAR OLD YOUTH AROUND MISSION MEXICO REFUGE. IN 2022, SUPPORTED YOUTH WENT FROM 25 TO OVER 200 YOUTH BEING HELPED EACH MONTH. 5)GAVE FUNDS FOR PURCHASING A VEHICLE FOR THE COMMUNITY PROGRAM AND REFUGE IN MEXICO.
